Soil Moisture Alarm (Plant Watering Reminder)

A soil-moisture sensor module measures resistance between two probes stuck in the soil — when the soil is too dry, a buzzer reminds you to water the plant.

How to Build It

  1. Connect the soil-moisture sensor module to power (VCC/GND).
  2. Connect the module's digital output to a BC547 transistor's base, through a resistor.
  3. Connect the transistor's collector to a buzzer and then to the positive rail.
  4. Connect the emitter to GND.
  5. Insert the sensor probes into dry soil — the buzzer should sound.
  6. Water the soil — the buzzer should stop.
